Kleine Erfahrung zum Umgang mit den förskola in Schweden bzw. Erfahrung, die wir mit den entsprechenden Behörden sammeln konnten. Wir hatten uns für Plätze in förskolas in Göteborg rund um die Wohnung. Erste Rückmeldung: “Vielen Dank für Ihre Anfrage. Sie befinden sich auf der Warteliste und die reguläre Einstiegsszeit ist dann ab August.” Und ist in unserem Umfeld zu Umkreis von 2 km wohl nicht 100 % gesichert, dass ein Platz frei ist. Na ja noch mal rum geschaut auf der Webseite von dem entsprechenden Amt, die Adresse eingegeben und findet man im Umkreis von zwei 3 km eine sehr hohe Anzahl an föresklolas, also Kinderkrippe und Kindergarten kombiniert (geht in Schweden von 1-5 Jahren). Und hier haben sie eine extrem hohe Dichte an solchen Einrichtungen, ich glaub 800 oder so (privat und staatlich) in Göteborg gesamt.
Naja erste Rückmeldung kam auch innerhalb von einem Tag, wie gesagt leider befinden wir uns auf Warteplatz. Wir haben dann nochmal nach weiteren Einrichtungen geschaut, auch nach Privaten. Dann haben wir zurückgeschrieben “ja wie sieht’s mit den anderen aus, gibt da noch ein paar andere mit freien Plätzen, wir würden auch weitere Wege in Kauf nehmen.” Und dann an einem Abend, wirklich 21:30 Uhr, gab’s eine Antwort (vom Amt wohl gemerkt, nicht Privatperson), dass wir uns doch bei dem Privaten einmal melden könnten, das läuft nicht übers Amt.
Und da haben wir uns flux bei der einen privaten föreskola gemeldet und die hatten auch innerhalb von einem Tag zurückgeschrieben: “Vielen Dank für die Anfrage. Es gibt nächste Woche einen Tag der offenen Tür, da können Sie gerne vorbeischauen und sich dann entsprechend noch einen Platz bewerben.“
Also erste Erfahrung mit den Amt in Schweden: Antwortzeiten grandios, alles per Mail. Alles wunderbar. Das würde ich mir auch mal gerne in Deutschland zu wünschen. Da sind wir doch noch ganz schön weiter entfernt. Nicht nur, was die Dichte von diesen föreskolas angeht, sondern auch, was einfach die gesamte Bearbeitungszeit und Bearbeitung von solchen Anträgen angeht. Klar, es gibt langsam immer mehr digitale Portale in Deutschland für sowas, aber so richtig reaktiv ist das Ganze auch nicht. Insofern muss ich bisher sagen: da ist Schweden deutlich besser.
Montag Mittag gab’s dann die ganz große Überraschung. Wir sitzen beim Mittag und bekommen ein E-Mail von diesem entsprechenden Amt. Die sagen “herzlichen Glückwunsch, wir haben ein Angebot für Sie in dem einen Kindergarten, der auf ihrer Liste wird war. Start: Mai”. Wir waren natürlich total freudig überrascht, das auf einmal doch ein Platz frei geworden war (oder er war schon frei, aber da wir halt noch nirgends im System sind, haben wir erst einmal abgeblockt). Wir haben das Angebot natürlich sofort angenommen und jetzt steht einem erfolgreichen Start in Göteborg nichts im Weg.

A little experience of dealing with the förskola in Sweden and the experience we have had with the relevant authorities. We had applied for places in förskolas in Gothenburg around the apartment. First feedback: “Thank you for your inquiry. You are on the waiting list and the regular entry period is from August.” And in our area within a radius of 2 km, it is probably not 100% certain that a place will be available. Well, I had another look on the website of the relevant office, entered the address and found a very high number of föreskolas, so day care and kindergarten combined (in Sweden from 1-5 years), within a radius of 3-5 km. And here they have an extremely high density of such facilities, I think 800 or so (private and state) in Gothenburg as a whole.
Well, the first response came within a day, as I said, unfortunately we are on a waiting list. We then looked again for other institutions, including private ones. Then we wrote back “yes, what about the others, are there still a few others with free places, we would also accept longer distances.” And then one evening, really 9:30 pm, there was an answer (from the office, mind you, not a private person) that we could contact the private person, that doesn’t go through the office.
And then we quickly contacted the private föreskola and they wrote back within a day: “Thank you for your inquiry. There’s an open day next week, so you’re welcome to drop by and apply for a place.”
My first experience with the office in Sweden: Great response times, everything by email. Everything was wonderful. I’d like to have that in Germany too. We’re still a long way away from that. Not only in terms of the density of these föreskolas, but also in terms of the overall processing time and handling of such applications. Sure, there are slowly becoming more and more digital portals in Germany for this kind of thing, but the whole thing is not really reactive. In this respect, I have to say that Sweden is much better.
Monday lunchtime brought a big surprise. We’re sitting at lunch and receive an email from the relevant office. They say “Congratulations, we have an offer for you in the kindergarten that was on your list. Start: May”. Of course, we were totally surprised that a place had suddenly become available (or it was already available, but as we are not yet anywhere in the system, we initially blocked it). Of course, we accepted the offer immediately and now nothing stands in the way of a successful start in Gothenburg
